Assess Digital Learning/Instruction

My action research seeks to determine if using micro-credential in professional learning increase the use of technology tools that emphasize student choice and voice by 7th grade and 8th-grade core academic teachers.

I am working with other teachers in my district on my innovation plan. Our innovation plan, as stated in the Self-Differentiated Leadership page is “creating opportunities for each student in Elgin ISD to experience real-world learning projects once per semester”.

While at first, my research may not seem to tie into the innovation plan, I submit that it does have an impact on the innovation plan. We are asking teachers to change to implement a new type of learning for their students. Changing professional learning by using micro-credentials will give teachers more experience learning in a new way. It will also allow teachers to learn tools to help students learn in new ways that give them a choice and voice in their learning.

The information below details my action research plan.
